The hot mirror is specially designed for cameras that do not have a built-in infrared filter.

Cameras with 3 CCD or 3 CMOS sensors do not need this filter as the prism system effectively filters out the infrared wave lengths.

Only cameras with single chip and without infrared cutoff filter built in will benefit from this series of filters.

Different materials reflect infrared wavelengths in different amounts, creating an unnatural color shift in the objects with most infrared reflection.

The filter removes those infrared reflections and restores the natural colors as seen by the human eye.
