Light, agile, seamless shooting with an ultra-light, ultra-compact hand held system designed by Garrett Brown, inventor of the original Steadicam.
Lightweight
For cameras from less than 8 oz. to 5 lbs. (up to 7 lbs. with Gimbol) Half the weight ( less than 12.8 oz.) and four time as stable as the JR, yet it can move as smoothly as the big $60,000 rigs used in Hollywood. Merlin is for cameras including but not limited to: Canon XH-A1, XH-G1, Panasonic AG-HVX200, Sony HVR-A1, V1, Z1.

Quick Release Mount
Instantly swap camera connections between the Merlin and any tripod using the quick release mount.
Unique dual extended weight system greatly increases inertial stability. And its counterbalancing weight can be precisely adjusted to balance lighter weight cameras.
Folding Caliper Hinge
Unique "Folding Caliper" hinge allows instant fold-up, perfect for shoulder-mounted shooting, and just as quickly, returns precisely for hand held camera work.

Steadicam Merlin Accessories
The Six-bearing Metal Gimbal and the Merlin Arm and Vest are the first releases of a suite of planned Merling accessories that will further enhance the professional capabilities of the Steadicam Merlin: the world's lightest and most advanced camcorder stabilizer.
Use the Steadicam Merlin with the Merlin Vest and Arm for the ultimate in flexible and creative shooting. Ease the Merlin back against your body and shoot handheld with both hands on the camera and fly seamlessly back off the shoulder and continue moving. With practice you can even fly the Merlin one-handed right off the mounting post during a shot (docking the arm to the vest with the other hand) and execute unique Merlin shot opportunities with ultra low or ultra high angels, then ease it back ont the arm to continue the shot.
